The Cell on Wheels (COW) is a trailer-mounted mobile base station platform built by Hengshui Yuanming Steel Structure Co., Ltd. It gives network operators and project teams a relocatable structure for mounting radio equipment, antennas and supporting hardware where a permanent site is not yet available or where temporary coverage is required.
The platform combines a steel structural frame with a wheeled chassis, so the unit can be towed to a site, levelled and put into service, then moved on when demand changes. It is intended for events, construction phases, emergency response support and coverage infill in areas awaiting permanent infrastructure.
The COW is fabricated from steel sections assembled into a rigid base frame and mast structure. Steel construction provides the strength needed to carry antenna loads and to withstand transport and outdoor service. Fabrication is carried out in our own workshop, with cutting, welding and surface treatment handled as part of the production process.
The trailer chassis is fitted with wheels and a towing arrangement so the unit can be transported by a suitable towing vehicle. Stabilising supports allow the platform to be set level on site before equipment is raised and commissioned.
COW units are commonly used to provide temporary or semi-permanent network coverage. Typical situations include large public events and gatherings, construction and infrastructure projects, emergency and disaster response, and rural or remote locations where a permanent tower is not yet in place. Because the unit is mobile, it can be repositioned as coverage priorities shift.
